SkyFeed: Evolving Open-Source Feed Architecture

This talk explores SkyFeed's evolution from the first Bluesky feed builder to a platform with a custom Rust-based indexer and database designed specifically for AT Protocol and Bluesky data. The new open-source architecture not only enables advanced personalized feeds and complex algorithms, but also has the potential to be a solution to one of Bluesky's biggest decentralization challenges: creating a fully independent, EU-hosted AppView that could significantly advance the network's autonomy.

About redsolver

redsolver is a German developer, known for his work on decentralized technologies and open-source projects. He is the creator of SkyFeed, a popular third-party client for Bluesky that introduced the concept of feed-building tools to Bluesky, enabling users to create custom feeds with ease. In addition to SkyFeed, he's working on and with content-addressed data routing networks like S5, IPFS and Iroh. His work reflects a strong commitment to enhancing digital sovereignty and building robust, user-controlled digital ecosystems.
